摘要
Presented an elastic-plastic analysis of cantilever beams subjected to tip impact such as Parkes problem, within the framework of finite element method based on Lagrange eight-node constant stress hexahedral continuum elements in LS-DYNA. A new way, which based on principle of continuum mechanics, was explored to get the dynamic bending moment and shear forces along the cross section. In the presented analysis, transient response of the beam and the local response of the beam to the impactor were obtained. The results show good agreement with Parkes theory and Reid's numerical resolution and indicates that it is more serious for structure design to ignore the collision process.
