N2 - This Paper describes a new modeling approach of rodless cylinder for pneumatic servo positioning systems and the identification of related parameters. A novel effective area function of the valve orifice is presented to produce a more accurate solution in valve modeling, which takes the offsets of the medium voltage into account. Besides, in the modeling of the cylinder's friction, we take the stribeck effect into account. The results of simulation and the facts of experiments show the nonlinear model can reflect the characteristics of the servo pneumatic position system much better than former researches.
