N2 - Multiple Görtler modes in compressible boundary layer flows are investigated with LST approach. The present analysis is based on the self-similar solution of the compressible boundary layer equations as base flow. The condition of the existence of higher modes in LST is discussed. Based on the stability equations, it is observed that, at a given curvature k, the compressibility has a stabilizing effect on the primary and higher modes when the wavenumber exceeds a critical value while an adverse effect on small wave number region. Motivated by these different effects, the effect of spanwise wavenumber is studied. The most unstable instability region is given.
