Measurement technologies and result analysis on experiment of penetration of steel projectile into thick concrete target

摘要

In the past, instrumentation was limited to the measurements of impact velocity and maximum depth of penetration. With the development of measuring instruments and technologies, it can measure the changes in trajectory of the projectile in and out of the target, the overloading curves, the impact-time curves and the effect after impact (such as spalling, sabbing and crack). In this paper, we measured striking velocities, maximum penetration depth and penetration procedures with electrical pins technology and high-speed photographing technology. We selected piezoelectric sensor that can measure high striking acceleration and obtained overloading curves. We computed the maximum depth by analyzing measurement data and compared it with the real data.
