N2 - In this paper, a linear transform, Linear canonical S transform (LCST), is proposed by generalizing the S transform (ST) with four parameters a, b, c and d, which can provides a time-linear canonical domain representation. It possesses some desirable characteristics that are absent in conventional time-frequency transforms, especially for dealing with the time-varying signals. A fast discrete algorithm of the proposed LCST is also introduced. At the end, a simulation is performed to demonstrate the advantages of the proposed LCST compared with the Linear canonical transform (LCT) and the ST.
