    摘要

The nexus between health and the adoption of clean energy has gained increasing significance, spurring a surge of research in this area. However, the current status of research concerning the interaction between energy consumption and health at the household level remains largely unknown. To fill the research gap, this study examines the relationship between household energy consumption and health by employing a systematic literature review and bibliometric analysis. Studies are collected from the Web of Science core database between 1985 and 2021. Four closely related research hotspots are identified, including household energy consumption and indoor air pollution, indoor air pollution and health, household energy consumption and health, and rural household energy consumption and energy transition. In addition, the characteristics of each hotspot from the aspects of research object, scope, and method are explored. The results confirm that household energy consumption and health are mutually affected through the channels of indoor air quality and health awareness. Furthermore, it is noteworthy that there is a lack of quantitative and theoretical research available to comprehensively inform the role of health in the household energy decision-making process. The findings highlight the need to investigate the interactive mechanisms between household energy consumption and health from both theoretical and empirical perspectives. Finally, this study provides fresh insights into the potential future research in the field of household energy consumption and health.
