Improved Theoretical Model for the Reflection Coefficient Coverage of Tunable Lossy Lumped Matching Networks in Complex Impedance Case

摘要

Tunable reactance component (TRC) plays an important role in adaptive impedance matching technology. In order to design a tunable matching network (TMN) that can cover a specific region, it is necessary to establish a reflection coefficient model to indicate the coverage region. In this paper, the theoretical boundary arcs of TMN composed of lossy TRCs with respective quality factors (Q) in complex impedance case are proposed. The proposed model determines the coverage region by multiple Jordan closed curves in terms of self-intersecting coverage and multi-connected coverage regions. This model is suitable for L, T and π lossy TMNs. It is validated in experiments in terms of both simulation and measurement.
