Implementation of Adaptive Airborne SAR Motion Compensation Algorithm based on FPGA

摘要

Aiming at the shortcomings of traditional synthetic aperture radar (SAR) motion compensation algorithm implemented by digital signal processor (DSP) or soft core, such as high cost, slow calculation speed and poor stability, an adaptive motion compensation algorithm based on field programmable gate array (FPGA) is proposed in this paper. CORDIC algorithm, Gauss-Kruger projection calculation, coordinate rotation calculation and arctangent calculation are realized through Verilog, and tested on JFM7k325t FPGA of Fudan Microelectronics Company. The test results show that the calculation speed of the algorithm is significantly improved under the requirement of system accuracy. Because the system transforms the absolute position of the target and the aircraft into the Gaussian plane rectangular coordinate system for calculation, and only uses FPGA to realize the algorithm, the radar volume and the power consumption are reduced, the measurement accuracy, measurement area range and flexibility are higher, and the adaptability is stronger.
