Geolocation of FY-3D satellite microwave radiometer

摘要

The Microwave Radiation Imager (MWRI) on the Chinese Fengyun (FY)-3D satellite uses a conical cross-rail scanning mode. The radiometer can obtain the effective physical quantity including the location information of ground objects only after the geolocation. Based on the scan geometry, a geolocation algorithm suitable for the MWRI is proposed. A model of the remote sensing image observation and the ground position is established according to the observation geometry, spatial position, and antenna orientation of remote sensing instruments. Comparing the simulation results with actual remote sensing location data, the geolocation error is about 6 km, which meets the accuracy requirements.
