abstract = "Considering the attitude tracking problem of the hypersonic flight vehicle (HFV) during the reentry phase, a sliding mode control scheme based on finite-time prescribed performance control method is investigated in this paper. To facilitate the controller design, the dynamics model of HFV is developed and transformed into a control-oriented model by feedback linearization (FBL) technique. Then, a finite-time terminal sliding mode controller is designed based on a novel finite-time performance function. The controller is designed to guarantee the convergence of the tracking error within an exact finite time and improve the transient performance of the control system. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed controller is validated through numerical simulation.",
