N2 - As a novel approach of optical pattern recognition, joint fractional Fourier transform correlation provides sharper correlation peaks compared with conventional joint Fourier transform, and its cross- correlation distribution could be adjusted flexibly by changing the fractional orders, bring advantages in image recognition. In this paper, joint fractional Fourier transform correlation is used for fingerprint recognition, especially for the one-to-many matching recognition of fingerprints. The principle is analyzed, and simulations verify the validity.
