摘要
A theoretical analysis of large deformation failure of elastic-plastic thin spherical shell impacted by a flat-nose rigid missile was presented by introducng isometrical transformation of surface bending. Based on the conservation of energy, a relationship between the permanent dimple radius and the initial missile kinetic energy was derived. The present analysis was shown to agree with some available experimental results and can thus be used to predict the degree of missile impacted spherical shells.
