N2 - 675 armor steel is a kind of high strength and hard steel newly developed and put into use, which has excellent anti-penetration performance. In order to study the anti-penetration performance of 675 armor steel on 30CrMnSiNi2A projectile and analyze the influence of low temperature on the anti-penetration performance of 675 armor steel. By impacting 675 armor steel with a one-stage light-gas gun, the mechanism of action of the target and the mechanical behavior of armor steel were analyzed. On this basis, adjusted the experimental temperature of 675 armor steel. It was found that the 675 armor steel target plate crater and dorsal mutant are consistent with temperature changes in the range of -40 to 15 °C, increasing first and then decreasing with the increase of temperature, and the dorsal mutant is smaller than the deformation of the crater. None of the projectiles can form penetrating pores on the target plate and the projectile fragmentation occurs at the beginning of the target collision at 4 different temperatures. The projectile impact target plate has a slight damage crater on the front and a bulge on the back. The results of this paper can provide important reference value for the analysis of the role of the target and the study of the anti-penetration mechanism of 675 armor steel.
