摘要
Penetrator with enhanced lateral efficiency (PELE) filling in reactive core (AL/PTFE) and high-intensity shells was designed and the penetration tests of this kind of projectiles against multi-layer plates were performed. PELE projectiles were fired by a ballistic gun with a diameter of 30 mm, and the normal/oblique penetration process against the targets were recorded by a high-speed camera. The experiment results demonstrate that shells of the projectiles generate a great lot of fragments because of the enhanced lateral efficiency in the process of penetration against main armors. AL/PTFE burned and exploded in the penetration, which exert some influence in ablation and impact on witness targets. Compared with the normal impacts, perforation fragments generated by the PELE penetration in oblique angles decreased to a great extent.
