Experimental study on fracture mechanism of aluminum plates in tension and laser irradiation with high temperature moiré interferometry

摘要

The high temperature moiré interferometry was first applied to study the deformation and damage process of tensile aluminum plates radiated by high power laser in this paper. The displacement of the laser radiation center on the aluminum surface was measured in real-time during the laser radiation. Transient temperature at the radiation center was simultaneously recorded by a temperature measurement system. The experimental results showed the large deformation and failure of structure were mainly attributed to the transient heat softening of surface material, and the damage forms of aluminum plates were different with the width of plate. The technique developed in this paper was important for application of high temperature moiré technique in aeronautics and aerospace area.
