Experimental study of the creep performance of creep strength enhanced ferritic steel weldments

摘要

A Gleeble thermal mechanical simulator and a DIC system has successfully been used to measure in-situ full field strain maps of cross-weld Grade 91 steel samples, which allows to monitor the local creep deformation separately, such as the base metal, the fusion zone, and the HAZ. Results show creep deformation is concentrated in the HAZ. The creep rate in the region with the highest strain was extracted from DIC result. The Monkman-Grant relation for base metal was used to predict the creep life of the weld and the prediction shows agreement with creep testing result in literature.
