title = "Experimental investigation of residual stress distribution during turning of weak stiffness revolving parts",
abstract = "A series of turning experiments have been carried out to study the effect of different cutting speed, feed rate and pre-tightening torque on residual stress distribution during turning of weak stiffness revolving parts. Surface residual stress and the peak residual compressive stress are selected from the typical residual stress distribution profile. The residual stress by turning was measured by X-ray diffraction method. In order to get the distribution of residual stress along depth direction, the specimens need to be etched layer by layer. From this investigation, it can be concluded that it is practicable to control the distribution of residual stress by changing the pre-tightening torque and cutting parameters during turning of weak stiffness revolving parts.",
