Experiment on hybrid fiber reinforced plastic beam

摘要

In order to research the influence of CFRP (carbon fiber reinforced plastic) content on the hybrid fiber reinforced plastic beam, 14 HFRP pultruded thin-walled beams of three different carbon content were tested. The stability of density flexural stiffness, ultimate shear load, and failure modes were analyzed. The conclusion is reached that the density of the HFRP beams is stable, and the stability of flexural stiffness depends upon the fiber-entrance process. Compared with the single FRP beam, the flexural stiffness of the HFRP increases substantially, but the ultimate shear load doesn't increase. There are three failure modes; local flange failure, web shear failure and interlaminate failure.
