title = "Electromagnetic imaging of wave impenetrable objects",
abstract = "A volume pixel subspace-based optimization method (SOM) is proposed to solve the electromagnetic imaging of the wave impenetrable objects/perfect electric conductor (PEC). In this proposed method, the PEC objects are approximated by highly lossy dielectric scatterers with pure imaginary permittivity and thus volume pixel SOM is successfully employed. There is no prior information such as the number and locations of scatterers required in the inversion. Synthetic data as well as experimental data are employed to test the validity of the method. The surface pixel SOM is also used to compare with this volume pixel SOM, showing that the computational cost of volume pixel SOM is reduced greatly and is much lower than the surface pixel SOM.",
