摘要

The 3D modeling of the thermal behavior for a lithium ion battery is presented. The effect of the discharge conditions on the thermal behavior is examined using the finite element method. The distribution of potential in the lithium ion battery during the discharge process has great influence on the battery's thermal characteristics. The dynamic thermal behavior is analyzed under a Urban Dynamometer Driving Schedule (UDDS), which results from an attractive solution to electric vehicles for lithium ion batteries. Discharging experimental data were obtained to validate the simulation results. Moreover, the single battery model was used to study the thermal behavior of the US06 Supplemental Federal Test Procedure Cycle (SFTP US06 cycle) and Highway Fuel Economy Test Cycle (HWFET cycle). Single battery modeling is beneficial in building a battery pack and predicting heat generation.
