摘要
The experimental results obtained in this investigation shows that the electric-field-induced fatigue displays distinct characters under different magnitudes of electric loading. It seems that there exists a transition of fatigue cracking from the micro-crack nucleation and growth to the main crack growth. The crack growth rate is nonlinearly related to the cyclic electric load. Similar to chemical fatigue, there exists a cracking threshold (equal to E=0.797Ec). When an applied electric field is less than the threshold value, the crack cannot propagate. An empirical relation of the crack growth rate vs. the electric field is proposed, and it can describe and predict the fatigue crack growth rate well.
