摘要

Polystyrene containing graphite(PS/G) was prepared by suspension polymerization. The effects of graphite on suspension polymerization process and properties of expandable polystyrene/graphite (EPS/G) were studied. The results show that the addition of graphite significantly affects the polymerization process. With increasing graphite amount, the polymerization time and the particle size increase, monomer conversion and molecular weight decrease compared with pure PS. And EPS/G following this formulation has low thermal conductivity of 0.0309 W/(m·K), and decreases 20.6% compared with pure EPS, which has an uniform foam cell size, and many graphite particles distribute homogeneously inside the wall of foams.
