N2 - Because of the target scattering characteristics are unpredictable, AD Converter is saturated sometimes. Typically, AD Converter saturation distortion is considered as a noise which is similar to quantization. the power of AD Converter saturation equal to the square value of the difference between input analog value and the reconstruction digital level. However, the effect of AD Converter saturation on SAR system performance is not decided by the power of lost signal. In this paper, by discussing a model of two-point, the effects of AD Converter saturation on SAR system performance using LFM signal were analyzed. It was proposed that AD Converter saturation can cause generation of false target and increase of sidelobe energy in SAR image.
