Dynamic force prediction model in complex surface turing based on B-spline curves

摘要

Aiming at the limitations of cutting force model constructed by oblique cutting shear slip deformation, a new cutting forces prediction model base on dynamic chip loads was presented. Various kinds of chip loads in complex surfaces turning process were classified, and several B-spline curves were used to construct a unified mathematical model of the dynamic chip loads. The model's parameters such as chip loads' area, cutting edge contact length and effective lead angle were evaluated base on this model. The edge friction coefficients and cutting coefficients in this model were determined by straight turning experiments. The experiments on cutting force measurement in turning of a complex surfaces workpiece with convex, concave and cylindrical surfaces were performed. Those results showed that the results from the prediction model had good agreement with the experimental results within 10~15 percent error.
