摘要
The discharge characteristics of a new cell of PDP with one powered auxiliary electrode in between of two sustaining electrodes are simulated and compared with traditional long gap cell. The Xe excitation efficiency of new cell is higher than that of long gap cell and Xe excitation efficiency is inversely proportional to voltage. The minimum sustaining voltage of new cell is lower than that of long gap cell when the sustaining gap is larger than 360 μm. This advantage is more obvious for the sustaining gap being equal to or larger than 450 μm. The minimum sustaining voltage is low when the auxiliary gap is 60-100 μm. The phosphor damage of new cell is below 50% that of long gap cell. The study is beneficial to the optimal design of new PDP cell.
