N2 - Nano-materials have unique physical and chemical properties. The nano-technology can be used to develop the diversification of lithium-ion batteries with the high energy and high power, and it becomes an important approach for the development of lithium-ion batteries electrode materials. This paper represented various synthesis methods for nano-materials of cathode, including the solid-state reaction, the spray drying, the microwave synthesis, the sol-gel route, the freeze drying method, etc., and the electrochemical performances of the as-prepared materials for lithium-ion batteries. In addition, some problems of the application of nano-materials of cathode were discussed, and the possible solutions were suggested. The prospects of the nano-materials of cathode for lithium-ion batteries were proposed.
