N2 - The design and implementation of a wearable computer, which is used in the outdoor AR (Augmented Reality) system in Yuanmingyuan garden, is discussed in this paper. The performance and portability of the wearable computer system are the key factor for the proposed outdoor AR system. The design principles and schemes, which must be considered during prototype development, are presented. A prototype of the proposed wearable outdoor Augmented Reality system for Yuanmingyuan garden is developed, which also shows its application scenario in the reconstruction of other historic remains.
