N2 - At present, the edge-cutting of Wilton Carpet mainly rely on manual operation. Artificial cutting method has the disadvantages of low production efficiency, poor cutting quality, and is easy to be affected by human factors. The edge-cutting system with computer vision can overcome the disadvantages of manual cutting, but the existing systems have the disadvantages of high cost, low efficiency and so on. In this paper, a automatic carpet edge-cutting system based on computer vision is designed. The system is calibrated by standard part method, obtains the carpet edge image through the ethernet camera, gets the offset distance between the cutting position and the cutting tool by image processing technology, and controls the cutting tool and the cutting position in a straight line by PLC. Finally, the experimental results show that the system can automatically cut the carpet edge well.
