abstract = "Tracking group targets during dynamic events such as separation and combination presents significant challenges, particularly in maintaining tracking accuracy and ensuring timely detection of new targets. To address this, we propose a method based on the GIW-PHD filter. The method first detects group target deformation through changes in group volume, then adjusts the birth intensity and measurement clustering weights based on the deformation information to enhance the robustness during splitting and merging. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method, showing improved tracking accuracy and successful detection of new targets born from group deformation.",
