N2 - In this paper, a compact electrically small wideband coplanar waveguide (CPW) -fed zeroth order resonating (ZOR) antenna is proposed. The presented antenna is composed of unit cell of the composite right/left handed (CRLH) artificial structure. In order to enhance the bandwidth, the CPW structure was used to reduce the quality factor while occupying a small area. The simulation results show that the proposed antenna achieves a 10 dB bandwidth of 157% and the peak gain of 3.33dBi with a compact size of 0.02910×0.04810 at the operating frequency. Compared with other ZOR antennas, it has a smaller size and wider bandwidth.
