title = "Classification of Motor Oil Using Laser-Induced Fluorescence and Phosphorescence",
abstract = "A method for the rapid characterization of motor oil by laser-induced fluorescence and phosphorescence is reported using a fluorescence spectrometer and an intensified charge coupled device camera. The fluorescence and phosphorescence spectra were able to classify motor oil brands using 355-nm laser excitation with multivariate analysis methods. The recognition rate was up to 100%. This approach offers high sensitivity and accuracy for rapid quality characterization of motor oil.",
