摘要

The extreme values of specific mass tungsten alloy spherical fragment penetrating and perforating low-carbon steel were studied. For armor-piercing of tungsten alloy spherical fragment against semi-infinite and finite thickness low-carbon steel with higher projectile penetration speed, firstly, ultimate penetration depth of the spherical fragment with typical diameter was obtained using numerical simulation, at the same time, the relation between ultimate pierced thickness and the diameter of the spherical fragment was gained. Based on the above results, armor-piercing tests of different diameter fragments against Q235 steel plate were done, the test results agreed well with those of numerical simulations. According to test phenomena and numerical simulations, the damage form of the spherical fragment was analyzed with different impact speed. The research results were valuable for engineering applications.
