Application of a SST-DES turbulence model for computation of cavitating flows

摘要

To assess the DES model based on k-ω SST turbulence model, a cloud cavitating flow around a Clark-y hydrofoil and the supercavitation flow around the Hydronautics hydrofoil were numerically simulated. The time evolutions of the shape of cloud cavities have been obtained, and compared with experimental results. It is shown that the DES model can successively predict the characteristics of cavitation and the detail process of the cavitation shedding.
