摘要
The paper presents an analytical solution for inhomogeneous strain and stress distributions within solid spheres of Si1 - x Gex alloy under diametrical compression. The method of solution employs the displacement function approach together with Fourier-Legendre expansion technique. The classical solution for isotropic spheres under the point loads is recovered as a special case. Numerical results show that the anisotropy of Si1 - x Gex alloy causes increase of radial compressive strain and decrease of the tensile hoop strain along the axis of loading. It is interesting that the special anisotropy of Si1 - x Gex gives an axisymmetric stress-strain state in a solid sphere under point loading.
