N2 - This paper presents an unmanned aerial vehicle conformal antenna array of dual polarization and wide coverage range. The antenna consists of two dual-polarized microstrip subarrays with compact series feeding structures. Operating in the frequency range of 504.4 - 511.1 MHz, each subarray has a gain of 13.7 dBi for the vertical polarization (VP) and 12.8 dBi for the horizontal polarization (HP), respectively. To increase the communication coverage range, those subarrays are configured with an appropriate separation angle on the conformal surface, which combines a total coverage range of 140° for VP and 180° for HP in the plane perpendicular to the flight direction.
