摘要
T-shaped fin is capable of decreasing the speed of submunition and maintain stable, as it has a constant area normal to the free stream as well as parallel to the free stream. Compared with the traditional parachute, T-shaped fin is simpler in structure and has a more reliable performance in uncontrolled flight. Computation fluid dynamics tool was used to solve the 3-D Navier-Stokes equations. Flow separation induced by T-shaped fin was analyzed based on numerical simulation. The critical Mach number and development of shock wave were discussed. Subsonic and supersonic aerodynamic characteristics of submunition with T-shaped fin were studied. The influence of fins with different dimensions on the drag coefficient of submunition was discussed.
