A semi-physical simulating system for automatic driving using a PC game and machine vision

摘要

In intelligent transportation, automatic vehicle has been a hot researching area, and involves environmental perception and control technologies. This paper presents a semi-physical simulation system to provide a platform of automatic vehicle driving experiment. In this system, a PC game named 'Desert Bus' and a machine vision are employed to generate and capture the images of driving environment and control the vehicle driving. The image processing algorithm is designed to identify the lanes, which is later proved effective and practicable. This simulation system provides an accessible research platform to verify the image processing and recognizing algorithm, and thus has potential applications in intelligent transportation research.
