N2 - To evaluate various methods and techniques proposed for mitigating the effects of atmospheric turbulence on optical communication performance, it is critical to generate optical channel states. Meanwhile, due to the complexity of the communication environment, traditional channel simulation methods are not always applicable. Based on the Gamma-Gamma turbulent channel, we propose a channel simulation method with an autoregressive model and rank matching method, which can simulate any channel condition described by autocorrelation function and probability density distribution. The method is simple to implement and its results are comparable to some more sophisticated methods. Although this paper discusses one-dimensional random signals, the method can also be extended to multiple dimensions, generating multiple random signals with mutual correlation numbers.
