N2 - Propulsion shafting is the most important excitation source of ship stern vibration, and the traditional propulsion shafting is connected with the hull structure by bearing. There is no corresponding vibration reduction measure between the two parts, so the excitation acting on the propulsion shafting directly acts on the hull structure which results in radiated noise. In order to reduce the vibration of ship stern and improve the service life of water lubricated bearing, a new type of magnetic-water composite water lubricated stern bearing was designed by using the advantages of low friction and simple structure of magnetic bearings. The tribological properties of the bearing were numerically analyzed and compared with those of the traditional water lubricated stern bearings. The results show that under the same external load, the rotational speed and bearing clearance, the minimum liquid film thickness of the magnetic-water composite stern bearing becomes larger, the maximum liquid film pressure decreases, and the bearing temperature rise decreases; The magnetic support can effectively improve the lubrication state of the water-lubricated bearing, improve the bearing capacity of the bearing, and reduce the friction loss of the bearing, which can provide a new technical approach for the design of low-friction stern bearings of ships in the future.
