N2 - Based on the IEEE and International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) community journals, the key words and abstracts of 167 top journals related to the field of model based systems engineering (MBSE) are extracted. Using Python and its third-party library WordCloud technology, the research contents in the field of MBSE are displayed visually and the development trend of MBSE is studied. The research results show that MBSE applies modeling technology to support system requirements, design, analysis, verification and validation in the whole life cycle of product research and development. MBSE plays an important role in system architecture design. Combining MBSE with safety analysis and reliability analysis methods is also an important research content of MBSE. System modeling language (SysML) and object process method (OPM) are currently the most popular modeling language and method in the research field of MBSE respectively. The combination of MBSE method and ontology is an important mean to standardize the expression of MBSE model, and the fusion research between MBSE and cyber-physical systems, digital twin and concurrent engineering is an important development direction of MBSE. It provides a technical route reference for using WordCloud text analysis technology to explore the current research field of MBSE, and is helpful for predicting the future development trend of MBSE.
