摘要

The reactive fragments will trigger deflagration under high dynamic impact loadings, which can ignite fuel tank. Impact ignition tests were performed on fuel tanks with well protection from single reactive fragments. The ignition mechanism and criterion are studied through the ballistic gun experiment and theoretical analysis. The ignition criteria include flashover and sustained burn. For a well-protected tank, the impact of single reactive fragment is able to induce flashover of fuel. The scale and duration of flashover can be improved by increasing the fuel gas. The necessary condition for sustained burn is that the fuel continues to spill out and the fuel evaporation rate is equal to consumption rate. The fuel continues to burn due to that the duration of heat source. The evaporation rate of fuel is improved by increasing the reaction energy or wick effect, thus achieving the sustained burn of fuel.
