N2 - In order to study the drop safety of underwater warhead with large charge, the free-falling weight test method is used to simulate the drop impact response of typical underwater explosive charges. The explosive B is taken as the reference standard, and the typical explosive charge RS211 and DNAN-based explosives of underwater warhead are selected for the drop impact test. The impact response thre-shold and impact sensitivity of explosive charges were obtained by using the drop-weight method. The results show that the responses of explosive B and RS211 to drop impact are explosive reaction, the minimum explosion response heights of explosive B and RS211 with φ20 mm×20 mm is 2 m and 3 m, respectively, and the maximum heights without explosion response are 1.8 m and 2.5 m, respectively. The minimum explosion response heights of explosive B and RS211 with φ30 mm×30 mm are 5.5 m and 6 m, respectively, and their maximum heights without explosion response are 5 m and 5.5 m, respectively. DNAN-based explosives all reacted explosively in the test process, and the impact response changed to deflagration reaction with the decrease in drop height. There were a lot of extruded residual powders, and the shock wave overpressure value measured at the same distance was smaller and smaller, indicating that the explosion response degree was lower and lower.
