Abstract
Coupling between cavities within coupled-resonator optical waveguides (CROWs) affects transmission properties. Our results show that, in addition to the number of the waveguide modes, the group velocity of electromagnetic waves transmitted in the CROWs can be controlled by changing the stiffness of coupling between cavities. This is significant for the applications.
