Abstract
In this paper, we present the unidirectional coupling behavior of a laterally coupled VCSEL and slow light modulator/amplifier. When we pump VCSEL and modulator/amplifier separately, the strong coupling takes place from the VCSEL while a week coupling can be seen for the opposite direction. Experimental results are presented to testify our concept.
