Abstract

GRP-Rubber composites is widely used in hydroacoustic equipment and ocean exploration. The existence of internal bubbles, degumming and other defects will affect its performance. In this paper, the defect of GRP-Rubber composites is detected by ultrasonic pulse-echo method. 5MHz ultrasonic probe is engaged and multiple imaging methods are adapted to detect. Results shows that all the artificial defects including Φ2mm flat-bottom hole can be detected. Image processing, signal processing and detection gate will also affect the calculation of defect area.
