Abstract

In this paper, the two-dimensional (2-D) DOA estimation problem based on a two-parallel array is studied, where the physical array is placed on a moving platform. The generalized moving sampling scheme (MSS) for this two-dimensional scenario is presented, and several non-uniform shifted arrays in the defined scheme are then synthesized to form a large virtual difference co-array. After analysing the relationship between physical array and MSS, a joint physical array and MSS design method is proposed. Better 2-D estimation performance can be achieved by our proposed structure with specifically designed MSS.
