Travelers' selecting model between private car and public traffic under different economic policies

Abstract

In order to promote more travelers travel by public traffic, questionnaire investigations were carried out toward the car users in Beijing. Influencing factors that may increase the car users' selecting possibilities on public traffic were analyzed. According to the questionnaire, the average income, trip aim and pay mode show efficient influences on the travel mode selection. Unapparent factors were combined and the variables used in the model were determined. A disaggregate model on travelers' selecting model between car and public traffic was established. The residents' selecting possibility rate on public traffic under different parking fares was analyzed, which could be used as reference in the future traffic demand management.
