Abstract

In this paper, a novel multi-level converter topology with multi-winding high-frequency transformer is proposed. The multi-winding high-frequency transformer can realize isolation while the volume and weight can be reduced compared with the one worked in normal power-frequency. The proposed converter can realize the energy conversion from high voltage AC to high voltage AC, and also high voltage AC to low voltage AC or DC. By some changes on circuit, the input and output voltage can be easily changed to fit different applications. The multi-winding construct of the transformer can realize the balance of power and voltage by the common flux without using extra balance control method. Different power and different voltage loads can be fed by the converter. So the application is very smart and fault redundancy can be easily realized. The proposed circuit is modular and its control is very simple. So its application is very wide. Simulation and experimental results are proposed to verify the effects of the converter and control algorithm.
