Abstract
Three one-dimensional thermal models of ignition by means of a hot wire have been studied. The common assumptions of (a) considering only the steady-state solutions, (b) neglecting reactant consumption, are employed. Critical values of some important parameters for the three models of thermal ignition are obtained in exact form of the Arrhenius reaction-rate law. The effects of constraints on criticality are discussed.
