Abstract

For improving the steering feel of vehicle with Electric Power Steering (EPS), a drive-vehicle close-loop steering feel analysis model was established with advanced dynamic simulation software Ve_DYNA, and analysis the objective comprehensive evaluation index including steering effort, returablity, on-center handling performance and lanechange performance. The objective evaluation parameters were validated by drivers' subjective evaluation. The steering feel in different steering frequency and vehicle speed were studied with the closed-loop model, the change trends of steering feel objective evaluation index were found. The steering feel prediction analysis method provides powerful assist and guidance in the course of EPS design.
